What diameter range hood pipe

Dec 12,2024

The main diameters of range hood ducts are 15cm, 16cm, 18cm and 20cm. The selection of these diameters usually needs to be matched to the hood model to ensure optimal smoke evacuation.

When selecting the appropriate diameter, you need to consider the hood model and smoke evacuation needs. Different brands and models of range hoods may require different diameters of smoke exhaust. In general, the length of the pipe that comes with the hood is about 1.5 meters, and the length should be controlled at about 1.5 meters when installing it; exceeding this length may affect the smoking effect. In addition, the length of the smoke pipe is best not to exceed two meters, and minimize bending, because too long a pipe or too much bending will affect the smoking effect.

When installing the pipe, you need to connect one end to the hood's air outlet, and the other end extends to the outdoor or public flue through the pre-determined exhaust hole. If the pipe has to pass through a wall, it is recommended to install a shutter outside the pipe to prevent rainwater from backing up. In addition, the height of the exhaust pipe should not exceed 70cm, so as not to affect the effect of grease absorption.
